These beautiful Native American Indian flutes are hand crafted by renowned flute maker Jim
Gilliland. Jim has been making flutes for 18 years, and his flutes are literally found "world wide".
Jim has the distinct honor of being the only flute maker to have ever had a flute played in outer
space. In 2002 Native American astronaut John Herrington took with him and played one of Jim's
flutes aboard the International Space Station. This flute is now in the Smithsonian Institute,
American Indian Museum, in Washington, D.C. In 2005, one of Jim's flutes won first place at the
Musical Echoes Flute Makers Competition in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.
Each of the quality flutes produced by Jim is electronically concert tuned and checked for pitch,
tonal quality, finish and appearance. Then and only then are they signed and dated by Jim.

with a solid block
of the selected
wood. This block
is then bored on a
large gun drilling
machine and hand
turned on a lathe.
This produces a
flute of
exceptional quality
because there are
no "glue joints" to
separate or fail
with time. With
